This book made me realize also the importance and power of thinking before speaking, the power of a " sorry ", the importance of a smile, that I have to leave my pride aside sometimes and think about people needs to. Reading this book made me think of how much I could have earned if only I had put more interest in conversation and asking more. ![]() There are many times in my personal life that I know people who I could establish long conversations with but at the end I prefer to say " hello " and " goodbye ". This book made me realize how much thinks I can discover in people just asking. ![]() Sometimes I just pay attention on my needs and I should think about what people want not just me, in life we should place ourselves in another person perspective always demonstrating empathy, seen through their eyes, seeing what they want and alliance what they want with what you want. What I learned the most involve a lot, beginning with the importance of understanding more specifically my personal and professional development today as a leader, becoming a better person and leader is and I hope will be part of my daily bases. This book totally got me into thinking, making me internalize aspects of my life and my personality. With all of the stories and anecdotes implicit in the book, of people we have heard of, or know at least from hearing about them, I could really relate and think about implementing the principles they are explaining as a simple as it sounds, and taught me valuable lessons relating them with examples. It helped me a lot to think and evaluate myself for instance on how I interact with people, and get myself out there to become successful gaining friends and influencing others, no matter my personality type. So, I found this book totally appropriate and helpful to read at this particular moment of my life. That's an excellent question to think about deeply, indeed most importantly now in my personal case that I am doing an MBA and each day I realize how often we have to deal with people or simply know more about them, get new relationship either in or out of class or work.
